| | | | | | | Winding Through The Milky Way is a little road music to accompany us as we make the timeless journey between earth and sky. We're in a story that will always include the ancient while riding to the outer edge. We'll get there with music, poetry, lyrics, stories, sheer sorrow and joy. Start with a voice. Let it fly free. Bring in a saxophone to touch those places the words can't reach. Add an insatiable guitar, some heavy philosophical bass, a little piano and Muskogee and other tribal rhythms to take us back to Congo Square and before, back up into the Milky Way. Add the good thoughts of those we've met along the way. We've got it and we're traveling now.' Joy Harjo | | | | |

| | | | | | Amazing and Moving | | After listening to "Letter from the End of the Twentieth Century" for a few days, I knew I had to buy this album. It is moving, haunting, and absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Joy.

| You must hear this. | | Joy won the NAMA award for best female artist. The poems are moving, and the music is incredible. No one else blends poetry with song and music the way she does.

| music that takes you to the stars and back | | I've listened again and again to Joy Harjo's stellar new cd of songs, some of them based on original poems written by Harjo, and I am constantly struck by their haunting and memorable lyrics. Not only is Harjo one of the most visionary of contemporary U.S. poets, but she proves herself to be an accomplished and remarkable musician and singer. Okay, I admit to be smitten by Harjo's sax, but I also love the arrangements and vocals (sung by Harjo) in songs like "Witchi Tai To," "This Is My Heart," "Equinox," and "Rabbit Is Up To Tricks." I have bought several copies of this cd for friends, who have happily reported back their enthusiasm for it. There are no easy gimmicks in this passionate music. "Winding Through the Milky Way" expands the universes of the mind, the heart and the spirit, taking the listener through the span of the Milky Way and back. Buy a copy for yourself and then another for the one you love.

| Nice CD, but nevermore with Amazon | | Nice CD, not at the same level of her masterpiece Letter from the End of the 20th Century. But nevermore with Amazon: to collect the package from the postman (I bought 2 CDs), I had to pay additional fees: 11,38 Euro (custom duties or what else?). No comment, only delusion and disillusion. Good-bye Amazon.com.
