 | | | | ANOTHER 'LOST ALBUM' FROM THE VAULTS OF NASHBORO RECORDS FINALLY SEE'S THE LIGHT OF DAY!...THANKS TO THE GOOD FOLKS AT AVI | | Of all of the groups on Nashboro Records it was the C.B.S. Trumpeteers who had the longest and most established track record! They were one of the very FEW Gospel Artists that Charted on Billboard's R&B Charts with their 1948 Top Ten Hit "Milky White Way". By the time the group signed with Nashboro records in 1957 they were well seasoned vets, only this time around the powers that be at Nashboro thought it would be best if the group was recorded with a light rhythm section that consisted of Piano, Guitar Organ and/or Drums. prior to that the group was pretty much singing Acappella. Their first Nashboro single (Included on this Compact Disc) "I Want To Know" was an Out The Box Smash for the label in 1957! In 1959 the group re-made a more tighter version of "Milky White Way" which also became a Hit for the label! The C.B.S. Trumpeteers stayed with Nashboro Records until 1963 releasing a total of Six (6) Singles, thus giving us a total of 12 (Twelve) recorded sides for the label which was just enough for an Album, but an album never was released! Why?...We may never know. 33 (Thirty-Three) years later we finally get the group's recordings for the Nashboro label...Most in Alternate Versions. It would have been real nice to have ALL of the group's ENTIRE OUTPUT (The Originals PLUS The Alternates!). This Compact Disc clocks in at about 32:00
(Thirty-Two Minutes), so it had NOTHING to with the time! So why the lack of songs??? Another question we'll never get the answers to. In the meantime this Compact Disc IS worthy of adding to your Gospel Collection!!! Oh!, And this is Out Of Print!
