| | | | | | | Beloved roots trio THE HOLMES BROTHERS have garnered critical raves (USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone), media appearances (The Late Show, Late Night, All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, A Prairie Home Companion) and devoted fans for their infectious blend of American roots music and rapturous harmonizing. FEED MY SOUL is the deepest album of their career, a joyous, triumphant celebration of love, family and faith sparked by Wendell Holmes' recent victory over cancer. | | | | | | Well worth tracking down | | The centerpiece on Feed My Soul is the reflective "Something is Missing," a recurring theme throughout the album. The Brothers sing about missing children on "Dark Clouds," missing money on "Edge of the Ledge," missing action on the sly "You're the Kind of Trouble," missing friends on "Fair Weather Friends" and missing your woman on "Rounding Third." The title track is a wonderful, emotional ballad that addresses love when it fires on all cylinders. There's a couple of diverse covers here--"I'll Be Back" by the Beatles and Johnny Ace's timeless "Pledging My Love," both of which work. The Holmes Brothers are one of those bands we'd like to see perform in these parts one day soon. Led by Wendell Holmes on guitar and vocals, the brothers play a folksy brand of R&B that favors mandolins over horns. Excellent stuff here from beginning to end. Well worth tracking down.--OffBeat Magazine, July 2010 issue

| Holmes Brothers, "Feed My Soul" | | Great mix of soul, blues and a bit of Texas Two-Step (from a transplanted Texan. It definitely fed my soul. Love it!!!

| Music | | I purhased this after seeing an interview of the group. I had never heard of The Holmes Brothers before but I loved this CD and plan on purchasing more of their music.

| Holmes Bros. -"Feed My Soul" | | I've rated this the max of 5 stars - would like to rate it 6! I've been a Holmes Bros. fan for awhile and have most of their volume of work which contains lots of good stuff BUT this release "Feed My Soul" outshines everything that has come before. When is the last time you bought an album and ALL the songs were great? This is your chance. The mix of tunes here is perfect - fast, slow, sad, happy. I don't know why this effort is so good though one factor may be that it was produced by Joan Osbourne. I have played this one for friends who had no idea who the Holmes Bros. were and had never heard them before. The reactions were incredibly positive so there are new fans being prepped. Hopefully, a listen to this collection of songs will get people to work back into all the rest. However, if you own only one Holmes Bros. creation, it should be this one.

| Fantastic music! | | My husband and I were listening to Public radio on a Saturday night and heard a song by this band. We ordered this cd and he LOVES it. Almost every song on the cd is fantastic. Highly recommend.
